Spring 2025 graduates* *cs advisors will be reviewing the advising form submissions of spring 2025 graduates and providing feedback if necessary.
These sessions are for current computer science, data science, and computer science + design. An advising hold will be placed on the record of each engineering student which will prevent them from registering until they speak with their faculty advisor. All other students will conduct their advising appointment from march 10, 2025, through march 21, 2025 (weeks 9 & 10) of the spring semester. All engineering students are required to seek advising from their faculty advisor prior to registering for the spring 2025 terms. Spring 2025 advising week is scheduled for march 17, 2025 through march 21, 2025.
If your advisor believes your advising form submission warrants a 1:1 advising appointment prior to removing your advising hold, you will be contacted directly via your uic email. Submitting the advising form does not guarantee seats in a specific class or section. Special topic courses will count as ece technical electives with a request for modification of major form.
To ease your transition to uic we have outlined a variety of resources you may need to reference, beginning most importantly with the advising and registration process. Students will receive instructions directly from their faculty advisor. See uic undergraduate catalog for details.
Students must register for their courses through xe registration > register for classes. Students will receive instructions from their faculty advisor with details on how they will schedule and conduct their advising appointments. Undergraduate students in the college of education must submit this mandatory advising preparation form as part of mandatory academic advising each semester.
